JROTC

Green Country MOAA proudly supports the Tulsa area JROTC programs through scholarships.

The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens. Students are the focus of Army JROTC's mission. In fact, they are the whole point of Army JROTC-it is devoted to their growth, both as a student and as a person.  JROTC teaches self-discipline, confidence, and pride in a job well done.  JROTC students overcome challenges and have opportunities for growth and development.

Each Spring the GCMOAA  presents MOAA leadership certificates and medals to cadets.

The guidelines for the JROTC recipients are defined by MOAA as follows:  must be in the next-to-last year of the JROTC program; be in good academic standing; be of high moral character; demonstrate a high degree of loyalty to the unit, school, and country; and demonstrate exceptional potential for military leadership.  Candidates are selected by the JROTC Instructors and awards are presented by a GCMOAA chapter member at ceremonies for the JROTC students.
